A little bit about me...

Hi, I'm Emily Fox! I'm the owner and sole creator of Foxy Lady Stuff in Jackson, MO. I'm primarily self-taught, aside from basic metalsmithing and faceting classes. Prior to metalsmithing and stonecutting, I worked as a registered sonographer (ultrasound) for over 17 years.

My journey into metalsmithing began with a single piece of beach glass I found along Lake Michigan in 2017. The day was August 2, a day that was particularly noteworthy because it was the same day, 12 years later, of my dad's passing. Looking at that tiny pebble -realizing its journey began as a jagged, broken piece of glass, I saw the transformation. From broken to beautiful...it was a message for me, still struggling with losing my dad. I actually said in that moment, "If God can do that with a piece of broken glass, maybe there's hope for me."

From that instant, I started learning how to work with metal and stone so I could share that message.  Fondly, I rediscover that message throughout my work every day. From rough stones transformed to gems; from fire and ash into a thing of beauty. Hope and transformation. That message exists in every single piece I make - it starts in my heart and ends in my hands.

In November 2020, I opened my brick and mortar shop in uptown Jackson, MO, in the same building my grandfather built in 1933. It's a building that housed my dad's business from 1977 until his passing. Now, it holds mine. I'm a 3rd generation uptown Jackson business owner, and very proud to be part of that history.

Thank you for letting me share part of my heart and my passion with you.

Most sincerely,

Emily
